The inner child represents the part of us that carries these early memories and emotional wounds, while the outer child reflects how these unresolved issues manifest in our adult lives, often through self-sabotaging behaviours and unhealthy eating patterns.

In psychotherapy, inner and outer child healing involves reconnecting with these parts of ourselves, understanding their origins, and providing the nurturing and validation that may have been missing in your formative years. By healing these wounds, you can begin to dismantle the unhealthy coping mechanisms and beliefs that contribute to a dysfunctional relationship with food.
